The Geneva Institute for Multilateralism, Human Rights and Faith (GIMHRF) announces the official launch of its activities in the heart of International Geneva.

A mission serving applied multilateralism

The GIMHRF positions itself as an interface between international normative frameworks and contemporary institutional, social, diplomatic and spiritual realities. The Institute translates international standards into operational competencies that can be directly mobilised by public decision-makers, diplomats, civil society actors, religious leaders, academics and international organisations.

The GIMHRF is founded and led by two distinguished scholars whose expertise combines peace governance, human rights, multilateral affairs, and faith engagement. Dr. Boumédiène Benyahia, an Islamic scholar and specialist in peace studies, focuses on the intersection of religion, diplomacy, and social cohesion. Dr. Élodie Tranchez, an expert in public international law and former United Nations human rights officer, specializes in the translation of international norms into effective institutional and policy frameworks. Together, they bring a unique combination of academic rigor, international experience, and strategic vision in support of peace, human dignity, and multilateral cooperation.

Four flagship programmes

From this first year, the GIMHRF is rolling out a portfolio of four executive programmes:

  • 18 Days for Peace — an intensive course at the intersection of irenology, human rights, multilateralism and peace diplomacy;
  • Multilateralism, Human Rights and Global Leadership — an immersion at the Palais Wilson and the Palais des Nations;
  • Religion, Human Rights and Leadership — a Faith for Rights programme aimed at faith actors;
  • Women Faith Leaders & Sustaining Peace — women’s religious leadership for social cohesion.

An applied and interdisciplinary approach

The Institute brings together international law, global governance, irenology, multilateral diplomacy, interfaith dialogue, tension prevention and ethical leadership within a single dynamic of training and applied reflection. This transdisciplinarity is carried by an international network of senior-level experts comprising former United Nations officials, special rapporteurs, diplomats and researchers.

The GIMHRF invites public institutions, international organisations, universities, foundations and field actors to get in touch to explore the terms of a cooperation: contact@gimhrf.org.
